The Super Krewes are ready to roll
Talk about putting on a show! This is the weekend when the Super Krewes take over the streets of New Orleans. It's Endymion, then Bacchus and Orpheus.
They are Super for many reasons, not only the most elaborate floats but giant membership that keep the economic engine of Mardi Gras powered up.
Ed Muniz, the leader of Endymion now has around 2800 members and don't forget abut the Extravaganza in the Superdome Saturday night.
''We had to stop taking numbers, because the tickets are hard, I've got members fussing, why can't I get anymore tickets, we've got
over 18,000 coming to the Dome,'' said Muniz.
Sonny Borey with Orpheus talked about the swelling membership that began with over 700.
''Now we're up to over 1300 members and we sort of want to keep that way,'' he said.
Not only the fabulous floats but major parties including the Bacchus public bash and then the private Rendezvous and on Monday it's the Orpheuscapade.
