Suspect dead after killing 3, wounding councilman & others

The suspect in a deadly shooting spree in Raceland is dead.
"Shooting suspect Ben Freeman has been located. He was found deceased inside his vehicle on U.S. Highway 90," according to Deputy Brennan Matherne.
Officials now say three people are dead and three are wounded. The injured include a Lafrouche Parish councilman. The dead reportedly include Freeman's wife.

Two people are dead and a Lafourche Parish councilman is wounded after two shootings tonight.
"Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported two people have been killed and three others have been injured in two shooting incidents in Lafourche Parish Thursday evening," Deputy Brennan Matherne said in a news release. "Lafourche Parish Councilman Louis Phillip Goaux was injured in the shooting and being treated at a local hospital for his injuries."
He says they have identified a suspect (above).
"Deputies are searching for Ben Edward Freeman (W/M, D.O.B. 10/06/75) of Houma who is considered a suspect in the both shootings. The first incident was reported around 6:40 p.m. at a residence on Hyland Drive in Raceland."
Matherne says there was another shooting about 20 minutes later.
"The second incident reportedly occurred at 7 p.m. at a residence in the 2900 block of Highway 308 in Raceland."
Police have not identified to two people killed.
"The names of the victims will be released upon notification of families. Further information will be released as it becomes available," according to Matherne.
