Sunday morning murder in Metairie



Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand reports that around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, 4th District deputies responded to gun shots fired in the 3400 block of Kent Avenue in Metairie.

Officers arrived to find an unidentified male lying face down in the parking lot of the Flower Gate Apartments. He'd been shot multiple times.

More than 20 .45 and .9mm bullet casings were discovered near the body. He was dead on the scene.

Investigators have no motive or suspects, at this time.

However, three males were seen fleeing the scene after the shooting. Witnesses could not identify the suspects.
