Success hindered by six toxic behaviors you may be guilty of

Could you be damaging your success in everyday life? According to a recently published article in the Huffington Post, there are six toxic behaviors people regularly engage in that sagotage personal success. They are: taking everything personally, negativity, treating yourself like a victim, cruelty, overreacting, and needing constant validation.
Dr. Michelle Moore, licensed clinical psychologist and a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the LSU Health School of Medicine, says these are behaviors that happen often in all our lives.
"They are things we see everyday," Dr. Moore stated. "They even described going into the bank and someone yelling at the car in front of them because they're going too slow or taking too long in the grocery line, complain about all these things that people do when a lot of times people don't think about maybe they had a really hard day and they're doing the best they can or they've had a difficult week."
Dr. Moore says these six toxic behaviors are seen not just in the workplace, but in everyday life for men and women.
"This could be relationships with family members, could be relationships with colleagues or even just with friends, and it all talks about ways you can really sabotage those relationships," added Dr. Moore.
So what can we do when we've exhibited one or more of these toxic behaviors?
"I think what people need to work on is acting assertively, and standing up for yourself when you need to," said Dr. Moore. "At times needing to accept feedback from others gracefully and then really utilizing the constructive criticism that you're given and trying to incorporate that into your life."
Dr. Moore says realizing that no one is perfect and there is always room for improvement.
