Steve: NFL wants Super Bowl halftime acts to pay to play
We all know that the Super Bowl is pro football's biggest stage and the most-viewed annual American sporting event. And apparently so does the NFL.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the league has asked some of the musical acts under consideration to play at this coming Super Bowl to pay them to take the stage.
The NFL has reportedly notified Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Coldplay that they are under consideration to perform at the big game, and asked the artists to either give a portion of their post Super Bowl tour proceeds to the league or make some type of financial contribution in exchange for being offered the gig.
The WSJ says the artists' representatives have balked at the request.
Wait a minute, I thought the NFL was against pay for play. BOOM!
