ESPN’s Marc Stein has just reported that Eric Gordon has officially signed the Suns’ maximum salary offer sheet.
There are only 2 options now: The Hornets can let Gordon and his heart go to Phoenix or they can match the four year, $58 million offer keeping him in New Orleans.
The Hornets have until July 14th to make that decision. If the 14th passes and they do not match the Suns offer, Gordon walks and New Orleans gains even more cap room.
All indications from the Hornets has been that they will indeed match though.
They have to keep him. They cannot let him go for nothing.
On another note, what's up with the name change. I have not been hearing anything on it. I have an idea, how about calling them the Horns as in Jazz horns. It would not be difficult to change from Hornets to Horns. What do you think.
