A woman who held cops at bay in Jefferson Parish finally gave up after a long standoff.
"After nearly four hours of attempting to open a line of communication with 44 year-old Ashley Shepphard, our negotiators convinced her to surrender without further incident," Sheriff's Col. John Fortunato said in an email. "Shepphard walked out of her Dodge Avenue home and was taken into custody."
It all started after Shepphard allegedly shot at her sister-in-law during a dispute. No one was injured.
Cops responded and say the woman went into her home near the Huey P. Long Bridge and refused to come out.
"She was placed under arrest and booked with one count each of Aggravated Assault and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm," Fortunato said.
