Soggy LSU tailgating weather for Saturday

Forecasters say LSU fans will face the possibility of wet weather all day Saturday as a cold front approaches our area.

"The rain will start early, around 6:00 a.m., and then continue through much of the afternoon," according to WWL-TV Meteorologist Derek Kevra.

The wet weather could very well hang around well past the start of LSU's SEC-opener vs. Auburn in Tiger Stadium.

"Hopefully, we'll get a break in the weather by 8 or nine o'clock Saturday night," Kevra says.

Kevra puts the chance of rain Saturday at about 80 percent, with the possiblity of some thunderstorms as well.

With the possibility of heavy rains, LSU officials are advising fans that some grass lots on lots on campus "may not be available due to the amount of rain that is expected in the area over the next 48 hours," according to a statement.http://www.LSUsports.net

LSU will be providing updates online about specific lot closures, if any, via their Twitter accounts @LSUsports and @LSUfball, as well as the website www.LSUsports.net.

Campus officials say that n addition to the public grass parking lot updates, "LSU will continue to do its best to accommodate as many vehicles as possible in the Levee and Hayfield free parking lots as attendants will be on hand to assist drivers to a parking spot. Fans will again have the option of parking close to the entrance of the lot or being closer to the stadium."
