Saturday morning shootings take two lives in New Orleans

New Orleans Police are investigating two Saturday morning murders, one in the Marigny and another in the 7th Ward.

About 2:30 a.m., one man was killed and two others wounded in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of North Rampart and Touro, in the Marigny.

Witnesses say a silver or gray Ford F150 Pickup Truck with possibly a green 'no insurance' sticker in the rear window drove up and the passenger opened fire on the victims.

One  of the three male victims was pronounced dead on the scene while the two surviving victims were driven to the hospital by private conveyance. The condition of the two surviving victims appear to be non-life threatening. A handgun was recovered on the scene.

Around 7:30 a.m., police found the body of a 25-year-old man at the intersection of North Roman and Annette Street, in the 7th Ward.

He was found lying face down in the street, suffering multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.

The Saints are a three point favorite over the Falcons next Sunday in Atlanta. Do you think the line is too low, too high or just right?
