Saints Center Resigns

14 year NFL veteran center Olin Kreutz informed the New Orleans Saints he is leaving the team.  Kreutz joined the Saints during training camp after spending 13 years with the Chicago Bears.  His agent Mark Bartlestein says Kreutz doesn't have the same passion for the game.  Bartlestein told me his client had high regard for the Saints and Coach Sean Payton.
Second year man Brian de la Puente will assume the starting spot at center for the Saints.  de la Puenta filled in for two games at center when Kreutz suffered a knee injury earlier this season.

Olin Kreutz
Olin K. has been a pro for along time ,14 year as a center. It happens to all NFL players,Sooner or later the game will pass you up..I wish him nothing but the best,an want to thank him for at least giving it a shot with the Saints...But there's no doubt that the Saints are a better run team with him out of the line-up!!!

WHat a JOKE...!!

Wish he would have quit before the Tampa Bay game.

Can't wait til end of season
You leave in the middle of the season?!?! What's up with that?
10/21/2011 12:40PM

Olin k
So, no big deal

What a flake - he should be required to retire. Way to leave the team hanging - I hope we win the superbowl withOUT this assclown.

did he break Sean's glass doll
10/21/2011 12:50PM
Didn't we acquire him for his leadership?
Way to lead by example jerkwood..

to much to handle
He is one of the reasons Brees is on his back they need to fix that o line badly if we want to contend we need TO at wr for a decoy and we need some new linebackers to fit with Vilma then we would be unstopable trust me

I wished he would've finished out the season but he didn't. I think there is a positive here. Chris Ivory has a spot now. No one else has to go for now.

let him go .....WHO CARES......

Roster spot
Give him credit: I bet there are a lot of players with the same mind set, but keep collecting a check.
10/21/2011 2:29PM
I wish him well. I hope we are better off without him!!!

I really don't want to accuse the man of anything but normally a player will not quit a team in the middle of the season unless there is something untold behind the resignation. The man went through the grueling heat and humidity of soutern Louisiana during training camp. I don't know about you but how anybody can endure that kind of torture unless he has a passion for the game. There has to be another reason.

If he is not willing or able to give it his best all in effort on every play, then it is best that he quits. I just hope we can get another center ready to play pronto! GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Losing his passion sounds like "I'm depressed" if you ask me. Who knows what's going on with him in his personal life? He's human so good for him for coming clean. MOST people would have continued to take the money and gut it out. I've done it in my own career. I think it took courage to do what he did. Good luck to him in life!

Get off his back!!!
Unless you have put 14 years in the NFL, You really don't know how much work and pain a linemen goes through in a season. How many players try to play pass their prime and while thinking that they can still play they end up hurting the team while some younger player is sitting on the bench waitting to show what they can do. It take BA LLS to admit when it's time to leave something that you like and you just can't perform to the high standers that is expected of you because your body is telling you your too old to continue. Remember he is leaving behind a pay check that only you and I will ever dream of making. Olin Kreutz I wish you the Best in what ever you decide to do in your life after the NFL. Thanks. Mike B. Who Dat & NFL Fan...

Once a Bear, always a Bear. Chicago misses you, Olin. Thanks for all the great years.

Right on the mark
Don't know what kinda stuff y'all are smoking, but it has clearly affected your sense of reasoning... I am the most passionate Who Dat I know and even I understand that people get worn out. There may or may not be another reason for him retiring, but at least he gave it a shot to stay in the game for another year or two and help is out when da coach did the dirty on Goody... I'm sure it was you same clowns that were singin his praises when he made the decision to come to NO. GiVE ThE FREAKING A BREAK and be appreciative of what he attempted to do and the fact that he bailed this early while we're still in a good position and BDeLP has a chance to improve by playoff time

Old Saint Fan
My oldest Saint log shirt is 44 years old and I have met a couple of these guys. NFL players are as tough as any man alive. All the mealy mouths that came down on this guy should have to deal with a couple of them.
