More than month after someone stole over $75,000 worth of Rolexes from a Canal Street store, detectives are asking for help finding the thief.
"An unknown male entered Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry located at 365 Canal Street. The unknown male requested to view Rolex watches because he wanted to buy a Rolex watch as a gift. He inquired if he could compare two watches," Officer Hilal Williams said in a news release. "The sales clerk gave the man both watches, which were placed onto his wrists so he could compare them. Once both watches were on his wrist, he ran out of the store and was able get away with both watches."
Williams says security cameras captured the whole thing.
"The watches that were stolen were a Rolex Submariner oyster bracelet with blue dial and blue bezel, valued at $34,250.00 and a1998 Rolex platinum with day and date valued at $42,000."
