ESPN reports the AT&T Cotton Bowl will likely be the first venue to host a college football playoff championship on January 12, 2015.
The ESPN report says the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl will host the national semifinals on January 1, 2015.
The sports network cites sources as saying under the 12-year deal, the Sugar and Rose Bowls will host the semi-finals four times.
According to ESPN, the remaining national title game sites will be bid out to any city interested in hosting the game, in a manner similar to how the Super Bowl is chosen.
