ESPN says that in an effort to shore up their injury riddled secondary, the Saints purchased a little insurance Tuesday.
They reportedly signed 10 Year veteran cornerback Chris McAlister, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens.
ESPN's Pat Yasinskas and John Clayton reported the aquisition. The Saints are not confirming the deal.
The injuries to Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer might linger a bit, so McAlister brings instant experience and ability to the secondary with Randall Gay, Malcolm Jenkins and Leigh Torrence.
McAlister had 26 interceptions over the past 10 seasons, he scored 5 touchdowns and made 301 tackles.
