Record Performance: Saints 62 - Colts 7

The Saints destroyed the Colts on Sunday Night Football.  New Orleans beat Indianapolis 62 to 7.

The Saints set a team record for the most points ever scored in a single game.  It was also the most points scored by any NFL team since 1999.  It was the most points the Colts ever allowed.

The Black and Gold scored 21 points in the first quarter alone and put points on the board in each of their first nine drives.  They only punted once with less than three minutes on the clock.

The game was so well in hand, that quarterback Drew Brees came out of the game in the third quarter, turning the controls over to backup QB Chase Daniel.

Brees finished the night with 325 yards and five touchdowns.  He completed nearly 90 percent of his passes, with 31 of his 35 throws caught.  He had no interceptions.

Receiver Marques Colston and tight end Jimmy Graham each had 2 TD's, running back Darren Sproles and safety Leigh Torrence each had one for the Saints.

The Saints also recovered two Colts fumbles in addition to the Torrence pick six.

New Orleans moved back into sole possesion of first place in the NFC South.

The only bad news for the Saints was that running back Mark Ingram left late in the game with what the Saints said was a bruised right heel.  He hobbled into the locker room for x-rays.
