Rain could dampen parades Wednesday, Friday & Saturday
Dave Cohen Reporting
Will it rain on our parades? WWL TV Meteorologist Laura Buchtel says, "Yes."
She says some of the processions over the next seven days will be impacted by showers.
"There is a 50 percent chance for spotty showers tonight," Buchtel forecasts. "There will some rain around. It doesn't look heavy at this point. It's doesn't look like anything that would cancel the parades, of course it's really going to come down to watch the radar."
She says there is a line of nasty weather headed this way, but the bulk of it should hold off until after parade time tonight.
"The strong to severe storms will still be to the west of us."
Buchtel says we get a one day break for the rain after that.
"Thursday night parades look just fine," she explained. "Friday evening, some showers moving in... a slight chance for a shower."
The meteorologist says none of the shower activity, however will be accompanied by another Arctic blast.
"It won't be cold and rainy."
Buchtel says Saturday looks soupy.
"We could see rain for a good portion of Saturday," she forecasts. "It looks like a steady, heavy rain for the first part of Saturday."
The only good news is that the models now show the rain ending in the afternoon.
"Right now the rain ends before Endymion."
