Potential for isolated severe storms in Southeast Louisiana
Dave Cohen Reporting
The risk of severe weather continues for Southeast Louisiana. While the worst of the storms remain in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee; there remains a chance some nasty weather could develop in the New Orleans area.
"It's still going to be isolated today, it is not going to be widespread severe weather," according the Channel 4 Meteorologist Laura Buchtel. "We are looking at that second round."
She says most of the weather in Louisiana will not be dangerous, but it is possible.
"There will be a few thunderstorms that develop that have the potential to be severe," Buchtel explained. "I don't want to freak people out and make them think what happened in Mississippi and Alabama will be happening here, but I do want them to be calmly aware of what's going to be going on."
There are no current severe weather watches of warning for Southeast Louisiana.
