1. LSU 10-0 (1)
Last Week: Beat Western Kentucky 42-9
This Week: at Ole Miss.
LSU and Ole Miss will meet for the 100th time on Saturday. The Tigers largest margin of victory over the Rebels is 45 points. They did that twice, once in 1917 and the other time was 1976. I can see LSU winning by 45 points again this Saturday.
2. ALABAMA 9-1 (2)
Last Week: Beat Mississippi State 24-7
This Week: Georgia Southern
Two 9-and-1 teams will go at it in Tuscaloosa. Both teams are also ranked third. Alabama among FBS schools and the Eagles are third in the FCS. Georgia Southern runs a triple-option offense and they are averaging 320 yards on the ground, while Alabama is giving up 52 yards a contest.
3. ARKANSAS 9-1 (3)
Last Week: Beat Tennessee 49-7
This Week: Mississippi State (Little Rock)
The Razorbacks-Bulldogs game is this Saturday's game on CBS. The 2:30 kickoff will give LSU fans a chance to scout the Hogs, who have won six in a row.
4. GEORGIA 8-2 (4)
Last Week: Beat Auburn 45-7
This Week: Kentucky
Bulldogs Coach Mark Richt has gone from a coach who was nearly fired after two weeks, to a guy who might receive coach of the year honors in the Southeastern Conference.
5. SOUTH CAROLINA 8-2 (6)
Last Week: Beat Florida 17-12
This Week: The Citadel
The Gamecocks went 5-and-0 against teams in the SEC East this year, but they will not win their division, unless Georgia stumbles against Kentucky.
6. AUBURN 6-4 (5)
Last Week: Lost to Georgia 45-7
This Week: Samford
The defending BCS National Champs have been on the wrong end of some blowout losses this season. Auburn lost by 24 to Arkansas, 35 to LSU and 38 to Georgia.
7. MISSISSIPPI STATE 5-5 (8)
Last Week: Lost to Alabama 24-7
This Week: at Arkansas (Little Rock)
Saturday is the Bulldogs last chance for a signature win this year. It's already been a disappointing season in Starkville, but it would be even more disappointing if they don't pull off a win against a quality team.
8. FLORIDA 5-5 (7)
Last Week: Lost to South Carolina 17-12
This Week: Furman
Florida does not have a single victory against a Top 25 team. They'll have one more chance next Saturday when they host 25th ranked Florida State.
9. VANDERBILT 5-5 (9)
Last Week: Beat Kentucky 28-8
This Week: at Tennessee
Vanderbilt has become a dangerous offense with Jordan Rogers at quarterback and Zac Stacy running the football. The Commodores have 14 plays of 40 yards or more. That's one more than Arkansas and Auburn.
10. TENNESSEE 4-6 (10)
Last Week: Lost to Arkansas 49-7
This Week: Vanderbilt
Vols quarterback Tyler Bray is back at practice for the Vols after breaking his thumb on October 8th. But Coach Derek Dooley is not sure if Bray will be healthy enough to play against Vandy. I have a feeling he'll be out there. A loss and the Vols are not going to a bowl game.
11. KENTUCKY 4-6 (11)
Last Week: Lost to Vanderbilt 38-8
This Week: at Georgia
The Wildcats school-record streak of five straight bowl games will come to an end on Saturday when Kentucky losses to Georgia.
12. OLE MISS 2-8 (12)
Last Week: Lost to Louisiana Tech 27-7
This Week: LSU
Ole Miss Coach Houston Nutt has suspended starting quarterback Randall Mackey, leading rusher Jeff Scott and another player for Saturday's game against LSU. Zack Stoudt will likely get the start at quarterback. He's thrown seven interceptions and just two touchdowns in five games this season.
