It's almost time! Jazz Fest 2014 opens a month from today, so today at the Fairgrounds, the festival's producers announce times and stages for all the music they've lined up for this year.
Jazz Fest produce Quint Davis says this year's festival is a milestone.
"This is the 45th anniversary of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival, and we tried to do the very best of...everything that we do," said Davis.
He may not be exaggerating, either. The lineup this year includes guitar legend Eric Clapton and a return engagement from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. It also includes performances by Christina Aguilera, Robin Thicke, Arcade Fire, and the list goes on.
Davis says the internationally-renowned artists are lagniappe to him.
"All these things are the icing that's sitting on top of the New Orleans cake," he said, referring to the great home-grown musical acts that include Trombone Shorty, Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne, Amanda Shaw and countless more.
