"Parish Presidents and Mayors from across the region will host a news conference," spokeswoman Kris Fortunato said in a news release.
She explained it was "to declare and support unified regional cooperation for additional hurricane and flood protection."
It comes amid lingering questions about what happened during Hurricane Isaac.
St. John Parish President Natalie Robottom said after many neighborhoods in her parish filled with flood waters, "There is something wrong with this picture. This has never happened."
Some other local leaders also wondered out loud if the new, beefed up hurricane protection for Greater New Orleans led to worse flooding in surrounding areas.
President Barack Obama came to LaPlace and said, "We're going to make sure, at the federal level, we are getting on the case very quickly about figuring out, 'What exactly happened here? What can we do to make sure it doesn't happen again?"
The US Army Corps of Engineers launched an investigation. We are waiting for their results.
There has been debate over whether the New Orleans area storm protection funneled flooding into other areas or if it was just a result of the path and movement of the storm.
