New Orleanians needed for positions at Jurassic Park
Don Ames Reporting
Locals looking to make it on the silver screen get another chance this Saturday.
An open casting call is being held for background actors in Steven Spielberg's next 'Jurassic Park' movie.
It'll be held at Grace King High School, 4301 Grace King Place in Metairie, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Casting Director, Judy Bouley says they want to hire lots of New Orleans folks...every age, from 5 to 85...every race, shape and size. All international looks are needed.
"I need everybody," says Bouley. "Families, single men, single women from every single ethnicity...hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of paid background actors."
In fact, she says they're looking to hire a little over two thousand people.
"I can't promise everybody will be hired, but they've got a great chance at it," Bouley says.
She does make a couple of promises, however.
"Anyone who's hired as a background actor will be paid, fed and have fun. We're going to have a blast on this film."
And, everyone who shows up at the casting call, whether they're hired or not, will stay in the data base for future films.
Prospective background actors are asked to bring two of the following documents to fill out your I-9 form: a valid driver's license or photo ID, an original Social Security card or birth certificate, a valid Permanent Resident Card or a valid U.S. Passport/Passport Card.
There's plenty of free parking in the school parking lot.
