Slidell police are looking for a naked man caught on video breaking into a home.
"A 61-year-old homeowner in the Country Club Estates Subdivision off Robert Blvd. called and reported that her home had been broken into over the weekend, while she was away," Captain Kevin Foltz said in a news release. "She discovered that several rear windows to her home were broken out. The homeowner also advised that since she lives alone, she had a surveillance system installed outside her home."
When they checked the video, they found that the burglar arrived at the house nude.
"The video shows that at approximately 1:00 am on October 5th, a nude white male uses the home's garden hose to take a bath in the driveway. After washing himself, the nude white male knocks on the front door and after getting no response, he walks to the rear yard," Foltz said. "Once in the rear yard the nude white male sits in a chair and puts on what appears to be a trash bag."
The suspect apparently then got hungry.
Foltz detailed the man's actions. "The nude white male then removes the bag and proceeds to bust out several windows. The nude white male then enters the home and ransacks it. While still inside, the nude white male cooked himself some food and had a few drinks, before taking another shower in the home. The nude white male then wraps a white sheet around him and walks out the front door of the home. The white sheet was the only item stolen from the home and police have little to go on other then the video."
Police ask that anyone with information on the identity of the nude burglar call the Slidell Police Department at 985-643-3131.
In the news release, Police Chief Freddy Drennan said, "It appears that the man is either drunk or under the influence of drugs. We are hoping that the public recognizes the man and gives us a call. I would be interested to hear his story and why he was naked and what was he thinking!"
