Miles reacts to SEC keeping LSU-Florida annual game

LSU athletic Joe Alleva and Head Coach Les Mile are not pleased with the SEC's decision to continue permanent cross division games. Which means the Tigers will continue to play Florida on an annual basis while Ole Miss will keep playing Vanderbilt and Alabama will face Tennessee every year. Miles says keeping this scheduling format is not fair.

"It's unfortunate and it's not a way you would pick a champion. It's a flawed system," Miles says.

Miles and Alleva's suggestion was if Alabama and Tennessee wanted to play each other every year that is fine but schools like LSU should have the option of not playing the same school from the other division every year.  Miles says unfortunately a majority of the other SEC schools don't feel that way.

"We made the point, certain teams play the tougher teams and certain teams don't. Anybody that shows a non-rotating partner, it's based on tradition and the fact that they must play them and the rest are self serving," Miles says.

Miles says they are fully committed to playing the schedule at hand but he wishes another SEC West school would experience the tough games the Tigers play during a season.

"I can just remember nine years ago when I sat down and I saw the schedule and we played Florida and Georgia and then we played Florida and Georgia and then they came off the schedule then back on the schedule and we played Florida and Georgia. I could hardly wait to see that schedule at another school in the west. It just never happened.
