Lows in the 20's, feeling like teens across S.E. Louisiana
The National Weather Service says, "A blast of Arctic air will invade Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi tonight."
Actual temperatures will plunge into the 20's on both sides of the lake, but it will feel even colder with stiff winds.
"The cold temperatures in combination with strong winds will result in winds chills lowering into the teens late tonight and early Monday morning," the Weather Service explained.
The entire region is under a freeze warning until 9am Monday, along with a wind chill advisory and a wind advisory through noon Monday.
Then it will get even colder.
Starting at 6pm Monday, a hard freeze warning goes into effect until 9am Tuesday.
Highs Monday will be in the 40's, but plummet again Monday night into Tuesday.
The weather service forecast calls for Southshore "lows around 20... north winds 15 to 20 mph... wind chill readings 12 to 22."
Similar readings are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday.
On the Northshore, actual lows Monday night are forecast to go as low as 14 degrees Monday night into Tuesday morning.
