A magazine about economic development and business site-selection lists Louisiana near the top for business climate, and number one for job training.
Saying Louisiana's "FastStart" workforce training is "innovative" and sets "the gold standard," Business Facilities' Editor in Chief Jack Rogers said Louisiana goes out of its way to help employers find skilled workers.
"Workforce training is a critical need in economic development," Rogers said. "A lot of people aren't aware that there's actually a shortage of skilled workers in this country."

Rogers said Louisiana makes the effort to find out what business need -- then tailors workforce training to meet that need.
"They're proactively getting involved in making sure that business that are relocating to the state, or expanding in the state...have the skilled workers that they're going to need."
