Letten: scandal will not deter his office from exposing corruption

U.S. Attorney Jim Letten today spoke at a luncheon with the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation.  WWL-TV's Paul Murphy reports Letten says the scandal involving two of his top prosecutors making anonymous comments on the Internet about active cases will not slow down the U.S. government's efforts to expose crime and corruption in New Orleans.

Letten today also announced that he has named Fred Harper his new first assistant.  Harper is a veteran prosecutor who was a part of the team that won a conviction against former Governor Edwin Edwards.

Letten also said there are two separate investigations of his office underway to see if anyone else has been making comments online about pending cases.
