LSU falls in all major polls after crushing loss

LSU's football team has dropped in all major polls following its first loss in the regular season since 2010.

The Tigers fell to #9 in the AP Top 25 Poll and to #9 in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Sunday following the loss to Florida in "The Swamp," 14-6.

The Bayou Bengals had been ranked at #4 in both polls until the loss to the Gators.

The Tigers are raned at #8 in the first edition of the Harris Interactive Poll, which is part of the Bowl Championship Series standings formula.

LSU now faces undefeated and third-ranked South Carolina (6-0, 4-0 SEC) on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

The Oct. 13 matchup will mark the first time in the 19-game series history that the Gamecocks enter ranked higher than LSU in the AP Top 25. Four of these matchups pre-date the poll.

The teams have met six times since South Carolina joined the SEC in 1992, with LSU holding a 4-1-1 advantage.
