Kristian: Saints prep for Bucs, still talking bounty

I hope I never have to type that word again! Frankly, I'm sick of talking about it.  However, it was the dominant theme of Saints camp this week after former commissioner Paul Tagliabue vacated the suspensions of former and current Saints players.

Coach Joe Vitt had little to say about the ruling other than "I'm happy our players were vindicated."

Quarterback Drew Brees had much more pointed comments. "I think the NFL and the commissioner were more concerned with an outcome than a fair process."  Brees added that the commissioner mishandled the entire investigation.  "Our coaches, and players were lied to the entire time by the league in their investigation."

Saints linebacker Jonathan Vima remains steadfast in his effort to clear his name, continuing to pursue his defamation lawsuit against Goodell.
Banged up team:

Six players, three of them starters, dotted the Saints initial injury report when the team returned to practice this week.

Safety Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring), OT Zach Strief (groin), and FB Jed Collins (toe) missed practice.  OT Charles Brown (knee), DB Corey White (knee), and RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) are also fighting the injury bug.

At 5 and 8 the Saints are in unfamiliar territory in their recent history... not having a chance at the postseason at his point in the year.  Three consecutive years of post-season play is coming to an end this year.

I think every Saints fan should send $1 to Vilma's lawyer to continue the case against RG.
I think every Saints fan should send $1 to Vilma's lawyer to continue the case against RG. A class action law suit by season ticket holders and all Saints fans against the NFL is a next step.

No sir, we will not move on.
Stephen A Smith in a debate on First Take went off on RG and then apologized to Vilma. No sir, we will not move on. The worm is beginning to turn. The NFL wants to move on, but Saints Nation is now in line to get its pound of flesh. We all have had to endure 9 months of abuse. Let us enjoy the apologies as they come.

Let Goodell know he is not welcomed in New Orleans
The NFL is very concerned about how Goodell will be received when he comes to New Orleans for the Super Bowl. Here's your one "big chance" to let him know how we feel.

This writer says he is sick of talking about bounties.
In an interview with Charlie Rose, on CBS, DeMaurice Smith said, "At times when you make a wrong decision, perhaps, your authority should be undermined." Smith went on to say that there was no bounty put on players by Saints players. Any Saints fan that wants to move on, right at the precipice of the truth coming out, obviously supports the NFL position and is simply being a mouth piece for their agenda.

They wait until the saints season is crushed
Now they dont care. Their job was successful. Keep the saints out of the superbowl in new orleans. Its so obvious.

The New Orleans Saints will always be remembered as 'THUGS'. ,just human nature., And Vilma should think twice about the suit, as no telling what will come out, and it all wont be good!

The Falcons will always be remembered as the team that allowed a QB to harm animals. Your owner and team security should have know about the dog fighting ring. Vilma's suit may reveal the truth, if the the NFL does not attempt to settle. No telling what will come out, maybe the truth, Falcon fan.

Garic better hope Payton does not read this article
Garic has gotten too big for his britches. Calling out Sean Payton??? COME ON MAN When Sean Payton does return you a@# is grass. Anyone who has any sense about football knows that from the beginning this whole thing was blown way out of proportion. 1 year suspension ? In essence a $7M fine ??? Garic your days are numbered.
