Kristian Quick Hits: Looks like a Saints loss in Denver

Really no change in the Saints injury report for TE Jimmy Graham Thursday.  "Jimmy Graham is about the same as he was yesterday.  Our doctors and trainers are evaluating him right now, he's still limited," Coach Joe Vitt said.  Graham missed last week's game against Tampa with an ankle sprain. His status remains up in the air for this Sunday night's primetime game against Denver.  Wide receiver Joe Morgan (chest) was ruled out for this week's match up against the Broncos.  Vitt said Morgan "is just not ready" after suffering a chest injury last week.

Running back Darren Sproles missed practice again Thursday for what is being called an excused absence, dealing with a family matter.  I wouldn't get too concerned with this one.  Sproles knows the offense cold.  I think he plays Sunday vs. Denver.

Ivory "ain't going nowhere":

The NFL trade deadline is at the end of the month, and RB Chris Ivory is a prime candidate to be moved on or before the deadline.  Ivory expressed his frustration to me this week about his lack of playing time this season, and he noted the upcoming trade deadline.  Coach Joe Vitt says Ivory's very much in the plans for the Saints. "We're excited about Chris Ivory.  We got a great stable of backs right here.  Chris is going to get his chance.  Chris ain't going nowhere."  That may or may not be true.  None the less, Ivory just has to sit and wait for his chance - here in New Orleans or in another NFL city.

My take:

At 2 and 4 the Saints have little margin for error, and yet it's still hard to pick against them this week.  However, I just think a leaky defense is not what you want as Peyton Manning sets his sights on you.  New Orleans and Denver each average 29 and 28 points per game respectively.  The Saints will score their points, but so will Denver.
Prediction: The Broncos win this win in a shootout 35-31 over New Orleans.

10/26/2012 12:30PM
Saints 24 Broncos 17 Saints will control the time of possession, limiting Mr. Mannings time on the field, that will be a huge factor in this game.
10/26/2012 12:36PM
Com' on man.

Saints 45 Broncos 35!Saints will win BIG!
10/26/2012 12:51PM
Believe it!
Kristian thinks the Saints will lose and he may be telling the truth,BUT he doesn't know that yet.Yes we already know Peyton Manning is a big factor, but Drew Brees is a even bigger factor and so is his teammates!Kristian will have to see the game for himself! But Saints will win in Denver!
10/26/2012 12:53PM
Have to believe
My man Kristian is just keeping real. Our defense is horrible but I am hoping for a saints win still! Who Dat!
10/26/2012 2:24PM
Kristian is just telling it like it is
Our defense absolutely sucks big time - the worst in the entire NFL. End of story - end of season.

Mile High
Denver is a tough place to play because of the altitude. That can really effect our D that plays and trains at sea level. Hope we win but I think the home field advantage, our lack of D, and Peyton, Manning will be too much to overcome. If we were playing in the Dome I would pick the Saints

Mississippi delta
Lets hope for the best "GEAUX SAINTS".
10/26/2012 3:10PM
Good points Kristian - unfortunately...
I hate to say, but I have to agree with Kristian. Our "D" is pure garbage (i.e., NFL record for total yards allowed through this many games) with no signs of improving anytime soon and has been getting lit-up regularly by QBs of a lower quality than Manning. If not for Drew Brees, we would still be winless. Just being real.

Bad Karma
Such a pessimist!!!
10/26/2012 3:20PM
big D
Saints Defence finally catch on . Defence will dominate.
10/26/2012 3:26PM
Not really - just a realist.
Wow! Just gotta love folks who just like to totally ignore the facts like they don't exist. OK - let's all dream/pretend that we have a top 10, even a top-15 NFL defense....if that was the case, I 100% agree that the Saints would handle Denver in the Mile High!
10/26/2012 3:38PM
over time
38-31! WHO DAT!!!???!!! BELIEVE!!! FAITH!!!
10/26/2012 3:40PM
mile high
The 6,000 ft elevation will decimate our defense if/when they stay on the field. Thin air will be the 800 lb gorilla in the room. Showing up even one week early would not be enough time to acclimate. Bring plenty of oxygen and pray for a miracle..
10/26/2012 3:44PM
Vitt fills void
W Vitt back we fill the void left on the Oline w Cromer taking on the Head Coach responsibilities and Vitt gets to be back w his positional responsibilities, believe its the LBs. the loss of two coaches had a domino effect. getting one back makes a huge difference......I hope.
10/26/2012 3:51PM
Onside Kick
Joe Vitt will light a fire underneath the Defense! Do not be suprised to see some "trickeration" 3 nights before Halloween. Saints 31 Broncos 23 Who DAT!!

Rod Guidry in Sacramento
I got to see 4 games here in Sacramento. Most of them loses. Due for a win. Sometimes teams are just destined to win. Saints are due for a destiny win. Saints 42 Broncos 24.
