Kristian: Saints fans get used to this

The Saints Win in Super Bowl XLIV is being classified as an upset over the Indianapolis Colts, but only to those who knew nothing about this team.

While technically speaking the Vegas oddsmakers had the Colts the favorite, and when the underdog wins it is "an upset," it wasn't a surprise to me, it was supposed to happen. The Saints set a goal back in March that this is where they wanted to be, and they accomplished that goal. They beat the Colts for 3 quarters of the game -outscoring Indy 31 to 7- , and by the way, the Colts played their starters the whole game.

All week I watched and listen to national experts picking the Colts to win their second NFL title in four years. I just smiled and laughed a bit. I thought, "You really have no idea." It was the love affair with Peyton Manning that clouded their judgment. It was their failure to recognize the better team. Team's win these games, not individuals. I think it might be safe to say if the Colts didn't have Manning, they wouldn't even have made the play offs.

As you revel in the glory of the first Super Bowl win in franchise history, remember the locals know more then the nationals when it comes to your New Orleans Saints, your World Champions.

I said it in the week leading up to the game, "Never bet against a team that is united, cohesive and determined."

Stay tuned Who Dat Nation, and get used to it. I'm not saying they will necessarily repeat next year, but they'll be in the hunt with this coach.
