Kristian: Saints are intense ahead of MNF & Falcons
Saints & Falcons…One word to describe this one: “Battle.”
This is what running back Pierre Thomas said when asked what he thinks about when he hears “Saints vs. Falcons:” “Both teams fighting and clawing to get a win, it’s always a good battle when we play the Atlanta Falcons.”
The previous four games between New Orleans and Atlanta have been decided by three points, two of those four finished in overtime. “I know I’m always a little more sore after playing the Falcons,” Thomas explained.
Focused, Dialed in, Intense:
There is a feel around the locker room, which I hope I can explain. There is a look in the players’ eyes right now. They know Monday is going to be tough, but they have so much confidence. The Saints are dialed in, preparing, and some players and coaches believe that you can win a lot of games through your preparation and practice throughout the week. As a veteran team, they know how to prepare for games like this. They’ve been repeatedly asked about chasing the 49ers for the 2 seed in the NFC, and the quickly direct the question to the game against the Falcons and the NFC south crown on the line.
Bumps and Bruises:
RB Mark Ingram (toe) did not practice, G Jahri Evans (knee) did not practice, Jon Vilma (knee) was limited, Sedrick Ellis (hamstring) was limited, Jonathan Casillas (knee) was limited, Aubrayo Franklin (ankle) was limited, Ramon Humber (knee) was limited and Lance Moore (hamstring) was limited.
