Kristian: Tigers look ahead to dangerous Oklahoma pitching

Solid game:  Well, the Tigers finally put it all together in their 5-1 win over ULL Sunday.  This is the performance everybody expected from the #1 team in the nation, with some solid pitching by Brent Bonvillain, and some timely hitting by Raph Rhymes and Alex Bregman.   The Tigers only had one error, and had some good relief pitching.

Looking ahead:   Now, we head to a best-of-three series against Oklahoma.  The Sooners’ pitching staff rivals that of Arkansas, who gave LSU headaches this year.  Oklahoma pitcher Jonathan Gray is maybe the overall number one draft pick in the MLB this year.  LSU has struggled at times facing top pitchers…You’ll remember how the Razorbacks got after them pretty good. This Super Regional weekend could be dangerous for LSU, at least on the day Gray is on the mound.

Glenn’s return?   LSU Coach Paul Mainieri says he will leave it up to the players to decide the post-season fate of suspended LSU pitcher Cody Glenn.  The Coach says there will be a team meeting on Monday, and he will allow Glenn’s fellow players to decide whether he can rejoin the team for the Super Regional matchup against Oklahoma.
