Jefferson Parish officials say the defeat for several property tax renewals could have severe impacts on crucial services. That's why they want a do-over.
"Well first of all we are going to look at the numbers, it may have been caught up in the anti-toll momentum," Jefferson Parish President John Young explained. "Certainly these are for critical services."
The tax renewals would keep the funding in place for schools, sewerage and water.
"We'll look at it, and give the people another opportunity to look at it," Young said on WWL TV. "We are looking at putting it back on the ballot in October."
