JP Councilwoman's husband dies

The husband of Jefferson Parish Councilwoman Cynthia Lee-Sheng has died.

Stewart Sheng was 47-years-old.  Initial reports indicate he suffered a heart attack.

Lee-Sheng released a statement, "Sunday morning my loving husband of over 15 years Stewart Sheng suddenly and unexpectedly died from a left arterial heart blockage. Thank you to everyone who has offered their thoughts, support and prayers to me and my family through this extremely difficult time."

The couple has two children.  Lee-Sheng's website says their son is 9-years-old and their daughter is 6-years-old.

Lee-Sheng's father, the late Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee, died from leukemia in 2007.  He was 75.

In lieu of flowers, Lee-Sheng says she and her family ask that people support the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
