Hunt for killers of New Orleans toddler continues

As the New Orleans Police Department continues the hunt for the two suspects wanted for gunning down a toddler and her babysitter, residents remain saddened and stunned by the news in a city that is no stranger to daily reports of violent crime.
Police say two gunmen opened fire and shot the one-year-old girl and her 18-year-old babysitter as they walked in the Central City area last night in the 2800 block of South Saratoga.
The baby, Londyn Samuels, was killed.  The babysitter remains in the hospital.
The NOPD called in a department SWAT team to a residence early this morning when investigators believed individuals wanted in relation to the shooting were in a LaSalle Street residence.
After hours of an apparent standoff, the NOPD told WWL-TV the SWAT team made contact with two women and a man inside the home, and is in the process of interviewing them.
Anyone with information about the shooting of this child is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
