Houma man charged with giving woman AIDS

Cops say a man from South Louisiana is in jail after having consensual sex with a woman, but allegedly failing to tell her a very important fact.

The Houma man has AIDS.

The woman called police after testing positive for HIV.  Detectives say they determined that the 53-year-old man never told the woman he had the disease and had sex with her.

"She had been involved in an on-again off-again sexual relationship with a male friend identified as Enos Landry, 53," Captain Dawn Foret said.  "Landry was questioned Wednesday by TPSO detectives and admitted that he was diagnosed with the virus that caused AIDS.  He further admitted that he engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse with his female partner and did not advise her that he was infected with the virus."

Police then took Landry into custody.

"Landry was arrested for one count of intentional exposure to the AIDS virus... His bond was set at $20,000."
