Horses, Hops & Cops saddle up for the NOPD Mounted Division
The Louisiana Hospitality Foundation presents the 3rd annual 'Horses, Hops & Cops' fundraiser for the NOPD Mounted Division Wednesday night.
The event is free to the public and will feature live music from the Yat Pack and the Hangovers, a wide variety of food and beverages, kids' activities like face painting and arts & crafts.
You'll have the opportunity to take pictures with the Budweiser Clydesdales...even pet them if you'd like.
"There'll be a trainer with the Clydesdales, so it's a safe opportunity to get up close and personal with these beautiful animals," says Jennifer Kelley, Event Producer with the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation.
There will also be an on-site raffle for a chance to win a ride for two on the Budweiser Clydesdale Wagon in the Krewe d'Etat 2014 parade, Friday, February 28th.
Applications will also be taken to participate in the first Budweiser Clydesdales Marching 108 Kazoo Band, which will roll with the Excalibur parade on Friday, February 21st.
Proceeds benefit the New Orleans Police Department's mounted division.
"And, in years past, they've used the funds to buy additional equipment that helps keep us safe during Mardi Gras," says Kelley.
The NOPD stables are located at Harrison Avenue and Marconi Drive in City Park.
