Hokie: Saints must keep improving

Former New Orleans Saints running back and current Saints Radio Network Color Analyst Hokie Gajan gave his take on the Saints game this week against the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Divisional round.  Here’s Hokie’s call:

The Weather: “With a 100 percent chance of rain the weather is obviously going to have some kind of effect on the game, especially the passing game. Whichever team can handle the elements the best may be the team that comes out on top.”

Keep Improving! “The Saints have improved their play on the road the last two games.  I thought, in a bad weather game, the Saints played better against the Panthers, and last week the Saints were able to shake off a slow first half to come away with a victory.  The Saints will need to keep improving this week against a much better team in Seattle.”

Turnovers: “It’s the number one stat in football for a reason.  The Saints were fortunate last week being -2 in the turnover department and still coming up with the win on the road.  Seattle is not a team that the Saints can afford to give the ball to.  If the Saints turn the ball over the Seahawks will make them pay.”

The Prediction: "The Saints are playing better, but I think Seattle is a much better team than what the Saints faced last week.  The Saints are kind of limping into this game with several players nursing injuries.  The Saints will need their defense to play solid again, and New Orleans needs to be able to have some type of success rushing the football.  I think the Saints play a much better game this time around.  But I think the Seahawks will come out on top. Seattle 31, New Orleans 24."
