Gas getting cheaper

Gas prices are steadily falling.

Here in New Orleans the average cost of a gallon of regular fell 16 cents over the past month, according to AAA.

The current average price is $3.31.  That's down a penny from yesterday and four cents this week.

''We could potentially see a statewide average from $3.25 to $3.20 a gallon,'' said AAA fuel analyst Don Redman.

Redman said despite the troubles in the Middle East and Russia, oil prices are falling. says the market is defying the odds and there's room for even more savings.

It follows the national and statewide trend.

Across the country the current average for regular is $3.51, down from $3.67 a month ago.

The Louisiana average is $3.33.
