Fake money spent at Northshore stores

Cops say someone is passing counterfeit cash at stores in Mandeville.

A spokesman for the police department says suspects passed $1,100 in phony cash recently at Victoria's Secret, The Gap and Banana Republic stores.  He says the supsects paid with fake $100 bills (above).

"The suspects passed four bills at The Gap, two bills at Banana Republic and five at Victoria Secret. Detectives were able to determine that the suspects later returned the merchandise at other retailers in the Baton Rouge area for a full cash refund," Lt. Gerlad Sticker said in a news release.

Police say as many as three suspects may be involved.  They have released a photo of the suspects (right).

"We are asking anyone who can identify the sus-pects pictured in the video stills to call the Mandeville Police at (985) 626-9711 or Crime Stop-pers at (504) 822-1111," according to Sticker.
