Equusearch halts search for missing teacher

Texas search firm Equusearch has called off its participation for the search for missing teacher Terilynn Monette.

Equusearch head Tim Miller says he is "frustrated" by not being able to find clues to the disappearance of Monette, but says his organization will again return from Houston if more evidence arises that warrants another search.

Miller yesterday told WWL-TV that while they had "low confidence" that Monette's Honda Accord would be found in Bayou St. John, they needed to rule out any possibility that there was evidence of her disapperance in this body of water.

Monette has been missing since last being seen in the early morning hours at Parlay's Bar in Lakeview.  She is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a green and gray striped shirt with long sleeves and with blue jeans. She was last seen on surveillance video driving alone in her 2012 black two-door Honda Accord with Louisiana license plate WUN494 at about 5:15 a.m. on March 2.

Investigators say they do not currently have a suspect or person of interest in the case of Monette.

Anyone with information about Monette is asked to contact the New Orleans Police Department, or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
