Former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards has been asked about his reality show quite a bit recently, but there are also rumors circling that he is seriously considering another run for office. During a speaking engagement at LSU, Edwards said if he felt people would warm up to the idea and he thought he could win, he would likely run again.
According to state law Edwards would need a Presidential pardon to run for governor in 2015 -- but he could run for US Senate in 2016 without the need of a pardon.
Edwards says Louisiana needs a leader like him, "I think the state needs someone who is more in tune to the needs and wishes and attitude of people in Louisiana."
Edwards says when he was governor he was here and he took care of businesses.
The 86 year old Edwards says he doesn't think his age would be an issue if he got back into politics because he hasn't had 50 headaches in his life, he is happy and in extremely good health.
