Drew: Saints offense and defense feeding off one another

Saints quarterback Drew Brees joined Bobby Hebert and Deke Bellavia for a Tuesday night holiday edition of "QB to QB."

Following the resounding win over the Raiders, Drew said the Saints defense is playing "championship" level football in winning the turnover battle and getting defensive scores.

"I can tell you, statistically, when you get a defensive score, you win 85 percent of the time. So right off the bat, you know you have a tremendous advantage...that is championship football."

Brees also said his offense and the Saints D will continue to work in tandem as they get ready for a tough battle with San Francisco this Sunday at home.

"Offensively, we're thinking about how can we sustain drives...how can we use up this clock, how can we create momentum and good field position for our defense. That's complementary football. I think that down the stretch, we've done a good job playing complementary football.  Feeding off one another, offensively, defensively...that's the way it's supposed to be done."

On this Thanksgiving week, we asked Drew what he was most thankful for.

"I'm thankful for my family, my wife Brittany, three healthy boys...I've got the greatest mother in law in the world, who lives with us and helps us out.  Just a great balance with my family and certainly my teammates.  Our family away from home, the guys in the locker room, our coaches, just a great group of guys.  Very thankful for that."

And, he said that bird-day at the Brees household is getting busier by the year.

"It's getting more interesting because there's more kids now...Part of it's going to be chasing the boys around, and trying to get them seated in the dining room for dinner...Then it's going to be picking up green beans off the carpet, and mashed potatoes and gravy," Drew said with a laugh.  "It's going to be awesome."
