Dorian models keep storm away from Gulf for now

The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Dorian is not expected to become a hurricane in the next five days.

"Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph," according to Forecaster Stacy Stewart's advisory at 10am.  "Some fluctuations in strength are likely during the next 48 hours."

The forecast path for the tropical storm keeps it away from land for the next five days as well.

Models (above) show Dorian taking a path north of the islands in the Caribbean and staying away from the Gulf of Mexico.

That could change over the next week.
