Deke: NFL Top 10 Week #11

The biggest game of the season (so far) takes place this week in Denver, the second biggest game in Carolina history happens this week also, and old NFC West Rivals square off the in the Superdome with a lot on the line.  Here is my top ten for this week.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-0) –The Chiefs defense is for real.  They will get their toughest test of the season facing Denver on the road.  Time of possession and ball security will be the main keys for the Chiefs this weekend against Denver.  Last week off  / this week @ Denver.

2. Seattle Seahawks (9-1) – A team that was once labeled a club that could not win a big game on the road is now 5-1 away from home this season with just two road trips left.  Folks, I'm calling it early like an election.  Say hello to the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs!  Seattle is balanced on offense, they can physically over power you on defense.  They are invincible at home.  Last week beat Tampa Bay 27-24 / this week @ Atlanta.

3. Denver Broncos (8-1) – The Horses from Mile High got a big divisional win over a decent Chargers team last week.  Now a huge showdown happens as the defensive minded Chiefs come to town.  This is a big one my people!  Last week beat San Diego 28-20/ this week vs Kansas City.

4. New England Patriots (7-2) – The Patriots got some good rest and now fly south to take on one of the best teams in the league in the red hot Panthers.  I can sense a beat down this week as there will be no tea party in Charlotte.  Last week beat Pittsburgh 55-31 / this week off.

5. New Orleans Saints (7-2) –  A record number of first downs, yards and a good ole fashion ACE whipping was hand crafted for dem Cowboys.  Hey NFC, if you want to go to the Super Bowl you best not play in the Superdome this post season.  Last week beat Dallas 49-17 / this week vs San Francisco.

6. Carolina Panthers (6-3) – I told you a week ago that this Carolina team is damn good.  Now with a long road trip under their belts, that yielded a win, it sets up perhaps as the biggest regular season game in Panthers history.  The Panthers held the 49ers to less than three yards per play and 151 yards of total offense last week.  Win this week, and the Cats are without question Super Bowl caliber.  They may be already!  I ain't lying y'all.  Did I mention that Carolina has won five straight?  Last week beat San Francisco 10-9 / this week vs New England.

7. Detroit Lions (6-3) –The Lions have put themselves in position to contend for the NFC North title.  Reggie Bush is playing well, Meggatron is doing his thing and with the Bears and Packers QB's not feeling so well, the Lions could be peaking at the right time. Last week beat Chicago 21-19 / this week @ Pittsburgh.

8. Indianapolis Colts (6-3) – Well the biggest slice of humble pie was served to the Colts last weekend.  Indy got beat down in their stadium and now has to hit the road to take on an embarrassed Titans team that lost to the Jaguars last week.  Uh oh!  Last week got beat down by St. Louis 38-8/ this week @ Tennessee.

9. San Francisco 49ers (6-3) – The 49ers got beat at their own game in their own back yard last week.  Now the boys from Frisco will need some extra help in order to catch divisional foe Seattle.  Last week lost to Carolina 10-9 / this week @ New Orleans.

10. Cincinnati Bengals (6-4) – By default I'll put the Bengals at #10.  The Bengals have dropped two straight (each in overtime) after having a chance to pretty much sew up the AFC North.  Now a nearly must win situation takes place this week against rival Cleveland.  Being swept by the Browns would be downright bad!  Last week lost to Baltimore 20-17 OT/ this week this week vs Cleveland.

Tony Corrente will officiate the Saints 49ers game.
Remember all the bad and no calls when the Saints played the Patriots. Bad news this week. We have the one and only Tony Corrente for the 49ers game, the same Corrente that shafted the Saints against the Patriots. We need to be loud and let this ref know, not in our house.
