Deke: Lofton ready to help Saints defense
So much for top free agents not wanting to come to play for the Saints!
Last weekend the New Orleans Saints picked up linebacker Curtis Lofton, signing him to a five-year deal.
Bobby and I got to chat with Lofton on Tuesday.
''This was a no brainer to come be a part of this,'' Lofton said.
Curtis went on to talk about his role with the Saints, being under new Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and playing in the Superdome in front of the Who Dat Nation.

Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis is pleased that the Saints were able to land Lofton.
''Curtis is a versatile, hard-working player that has displayed a knack for being around the football, and more importantly, making plays on the ball,'' Loomis said. ''He has the ability to play all three linebacker positions and we feel that he’s just entering the prime of his career. We think he can come to New Orleans and fit in well and provide us with a significant contribution to our defense.''
In four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Lofton has notched 577 tackles (387 solo), while filling up the stat sheet with four sacks, three interceptions, seven forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 15 pass defenses.
