Just when we thought we were going to see another big-time battle, the so-called "battle" was another bust. Other than the Alabama game and part of the Tigers' win over West Virginia, LSU has been dominant all season...And that was quite evident Friday again afternoon in Death Valley.
After the third-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks took a shocking 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, the Tigers took over the game in the blink of a Honey Badgers' Eye and never looked back as they foiled the Pig Suie Parade!
LSU played three impressive quarters and proved that the Arkansas Razorbacks are not in the same class as the #1 ranked, 12-0 LSU Tigers. After failing to score in the first quarter of the game and only able to gain thirty-one yards of total offense, the Tigers kicked things up a notch and rolled hard over those Hogs from Arkansas.
LSU outscored the Razorbacks 41-3 the rest of the game and then went on to pick up 462 yards of total offense in the final three quarters of the game to win hands-down over Arkansas. The win over Arkansas marked the third time this season that LSU faced a top-five team, and the second time that the Tigers beat down the third-ranked team.
If there is a thing such as "style points," the Tigers must have earned some against the Hogs. Now LSU can keep their undefeated season alive next Saturday in the Georgia Dome as they take on the SEC East Champ Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia has been red hot of late, winning nine straight games going into their annual rival match-up with the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech. But I’m not so sure that UGA can keep up with these Tigers.
I think that there is only one team that can stay on the field with LSU, and that team hails from Tuscaloosa. Will we see a rematch in January in the BCS Title Game? I’m not sure, but I know that clearly Alabama and LSU are by far the best teams in college football, and I know that LSU is the best after 12 games. Let the guessing and predicting begin!
