CONFIRMED: Saints to release WR Moore



Saints wide receiver Lance Moore used Twitter to say, "Thank you New Orleans for an amazing nine years. Who Dat Nation, the best on earth!!!"

The message was sent just after 7:00am today.

It comes at the same time that reports surfaced saying the Saints were looking to trade or release the veteran wide receiver.  WWL Saints sideline reporter Kristian Garic confirmed this morning that the Saints will release Moore by the end of this afternoon.

Calls to Moore for further explanation went to voicemail.

We are also waiting for a comment from the Saints.

Last season, Moore had 37 catches for  457 yards, and averages of 12.4 yards.  He had 2 TDs for the season.  A year earlier he had 6 scores and averaged 16 yards per catch, grabbing 65 balls for 1041 yards.
