CCC toll opponents want officials to challenge results

The tolls on the Crescent Connection are under attack again and now opponents are pleading with Jefferson Parish officials to order an election recount.

Letters have gone out with the formal request and Stop the Tolls leader Mike Teachworth said he has serious questions about the vote in Orleans Parish and he just can't settle on that the 16 vote margin of victory without a recount.

''Where were the votes from New Orleans, why did they take so long to return,'' said Teachworth.

Listen to Mike Teachworth of Stop the Tolls:

Another toll oppCCC toll opponents want officials to challenge resultsonent, Gibby Andry is hoping Jefferson Parish officials do the right thing.

''The hard thing and the right thing would be to challenge for everyone's sake, whether it was it was an accurate vote.''

There is no word yet on if Jefferson Parish leaders will comply with the request for a formal recount. The toll extension passed by a slim 16 vote margin
with about 310,000.
