Bobby Hebert on Saints-Cards: ''What more can you ask for?''

What more can you say?  The Saints will never lose in this life, or the afterlife, if you hold an opponent to seven points.  I thought we’d get 30 points, but I thought it would be more like 31-23.  That’s outstanding, how Rob Ryan has the defense clicking.  You look at Rob, he looks like a renegade.  So, “Rob’s Renegades” are just kicking ass.  31-7 is a dominant performance.

When you look at it also, in the winning formula – win the turnover battle.  I thought the only way the Cardinals could win on the road was the turnovers.  Like when we went out to Arizona in 2010, we were world champs, and we lost to the Cardinals 30-20, we turned over the football.  Now, today, we’re plus one in the turnover ratio, and we’re plus two on the season. Bottom line, that is a winning formula.

I was really disheartened at halftime, but that’s why you have to look at it as four quarters…realistically, we couldn’t run the ball in the first half.  It was almost embarrassing, to say the least…four attempts for negative yards.  But when you look at the big picture, we ended up having 24 attempts, and 104 yards, a 4.3 average.  Well, you can say, “well, at the end, maybe the Cardinals were giving up.”  But in the Super Bowl year, that’s what we were doing, with Mike Bell.  We were running in that fourth quarter.  Khiry Robinson was running like a beast, and even Pierre came in at the end and had a big run….The bottom line is to break tackles and bring that energy, like he was playing in the first quarter, to close out games.

O Line:  This is the first game Jahri Evans has missed in a Saints uniform.  He had the third-most starts in players right now…so I didn’t think we were going to be as good.  Then you throw in, look how we’ve changed offensive line coaches and personnel…we’ve got to get it going from the get-go to keep defenses off-balance, and not just to close out games.  If you look at total net yards:  423 total yards, 31 points, what more can you ask for?  But, we’ve got to be able to run the ball more, so that Drew doesn’t take so many hits.
