The Powerball prize this weekend -- $320 million -- is the sixth largest in Powerball history.  It's also the latest in a string of top-ten Powerball jackpots just since 2012.  Lottery officials tells us there's a reason for that.

"Powerball stared back in 1992, and yet four of the top ten jackpots have occurred since 2012," said Kimberly Chopin of the Louisiana Lottery.

Chopin says it's because more people are buying Powerball tickets. She says with more states adding the Powerball game to their lotteries, there have been a lot more buyers to fund the pot.

"In fact, we just found out California plans to join in April," Chopin said, bringing the nation's most-populated state into the fold.

So if someone just dropped $320 in your lap, what would you do?  No doubt many people have fantasies of telling their boss where to go, but at least on man told WWL First News that if he won, he'd keep working!

"I would go crazy" without anything to do, he said.  "I would take probably a couple of days off, y'know, and then go back to work."

Another said she's share with her family -- not because she's generous, but because she wants them out of her life!

"Once I get my money, they get their loot, they can go to Hell away from me," she said.  "Excuse me. Excuse me."

Indeed, the thought of using that money to just vanish appealed to a lot of people.

"I'd pay all my bills off, give to my church, and leave town," another woman told us.  "I can be gone for as long as I need to."

"I'd take the money and disappear,: another man told us.  "Ain't now way nobody gonna find me!"
